Helena's work looks more cerebral and esoteric. Her biggest reference point is therefore Greek mythology. Her Odyssey? 'Life in art objects'. As a statement that can apply, even if it does not stop here. In her art practice, she also dares to ask questions such as the relationship of man to the Gods who created them, or the dialogue between art and the beholder, lost in accordance with herself. Not that I necessarily agree with that, but it already yields good images and dense, enigmatic drawings.

Helena’s werk oogt dan weer meer cerebraal en esoterisch. Haar grootste referentiepunt is dan ook de Griekse mythologie. Haar Odyssee? ‘Leven inblazen in kunstvoorwerpen’. Als statement kan dat gelden, al stopt ze hier niet bij. In haar kunstpraktijk durft ze ook vragen te stellen als de relatie van de mens tot de Goden die ze hebben geschapen, of de –volgens haarzelf- verloren gegane dialoog tussen kunst en de aanschouwer. Niet dat ik het daar noodzakelijk mee eens ben, maar het levert alvast knappe beelden en dense, enigmatische tekeningen op.
